Alexander Stephens (Stevens in GQC’s journal)

1813– 1894

Born at Salisbury, Rowan County, North Carolina. Joined the Church in 1841 or 1842. Member of the Mormon Battalion. One of the former Mormon Battalion soldiers present at the discovery of gold in 1848 at Sutter’s Mill. Died 15 September 1894, at Ogden, Utah. (Mentioned in Carl V.
