Lowell Smith

1802– 1891

Born in Heath, Massachusetts; graduated from Auburn Theological Seminary in 1832; later that year sailed for Hawai‘i with his wife, Abigail, as members of sixth company of missionaries sent to the islands by ABCFM; stationed briefly at Kalua‘aha, Moloka‘i, and ‘Ewa, O‘ahu, before becoming superintendent of the Kawaiahao schools in Honolulu in 1836; served as pastor of Second Native Church in Honolulu, 1839–1869; died in Honolulu.
