Linton L. Torbert

Born in Newtown, Pennsylvania; obtained proprietorship of King’s Plantation at Honua‘ula, Maui, operated on land leased from the king, in 1846; he and an employee were convicted that year of manslaughter in an accidental shooting; sold his interest in plantation around 1859.
