Julian Moses

Born in Norfolk, Connecticut; baptized in 1834 while teaching school in Canaan, Connecticut; missionary to eastern and southern states prior to immigrating to Utah in 1847; first male schoolteacher in Salt Lake Valley; called on mission to Society Islands in 1850; traveled to California in company with Jonathan and Caroline Crosby and others; assigned to island of Tahiti; returned to the U.S. in 1852 because of problems with the government; presided over the Latter-day Saints in northern part of Mill Creek Ward following his return to Utah; died in Salt Lake City.
