John William Berry

Native of Wilson County, Tennessee; one of the miners with GQC at Slap Jack Bar; called as missionary to Hawai‘i in 1850 but returned to Utah to take care of his mother; married Jane Thomas in 1851; settled in Spanish Fork, Utah, where he served as counselor in bishopric; fulfilled mission to Europe, 1857–58; helped establish Berryville (now Glendale), Utah, in 1864; later settled in Kanarraville, Utah, where he died.
