Hezekiah Thatcher

1809– 1879

Born in Ganotown, Virginia (now West Virginia); baptized in Sangamon County, Illinois, in 1843; immigrated with his family to Salt Lake Valley in 1847 and then to California in 1849; operated inn at Salmon Falls in October 1850; moved his family to Yolo County in 1852; returned to Utah in 1857; moved to Logan, Utah, in 1860, where he built saw- and gristmills; lived there remainder of his life.
