George Berkeley Rowell

1815– 1884

Born in Cornish, New Hampshire; graduated from Andover Theological Seminary in 1841; sailed to Hawai‘i the next year with his wife, Malvina, as members of tenth company of missionaries sent by ABCFM; stationed at Waialua, O‘ahu, 1842–1843, Wai‘oli, Kaua‘i, 1843–1846, and Waimea, Kaua‘i, 1846–1865; led brotherhood of independent churches after ending association with ABCFM; died at Koloa, Kaua‘i.
