Erastus Snow

1818– 1888

Younger brother of Willard Snow; born in St. Johnsbury, Vermont; baptized in 1833 in his home state; served missions to six northern U.S. states prior to his twentieth birthday; moved to Nauvoo, Illinois, in 1839; fulfilled several missions along eastern seaboard from Virginia to Massachusetts, 1840–1844; member of vanguard pioneer company that entered the Salt Lake Valley with Brigham Young in July 1847; ordained an apostle in 1849; served as one of first missionaries to Denmark, 1849–1852; served missions to eastern U.S., 1854–1857; helped establish southern Utah settlement of St. George in 1861; died in Salt Lake City.
