David Henry Caldwell was born 12 September 1828 in Perth, Upper Canada. He was baptized in 1843. Caldwell lived in Monroe, Michigan, for many years. In 1853 he moved to Utah Territory with two of his brothers. He married Fanny Catherine Johnson in 1856. He moved to St. John, Utah Territory, in 1867 and worked as a farmer. He was a counselor in a bishopric for twenty-one years and bishop for nine. In 1898 he moved to Alberta, Canada. He died there on 28 November 1904.[1]
