Thomas Robinson Cutler

2 June 1844–3 April 1922

Born 2 June 1844 in Sheffield, Yorkshire, England.[1] Son of John Cutler and Elizabeth Robinson.[2] Clerk for S. & J. Watts and Company in Manchester, Lancashire, England, 1858–1864.[3] Baptized as a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, Feb. 1863.[4] Emigrated with his family to New York City aboard the Monarch of the Sea, arriving 3 June 1864.[5] Migrated to the Salt Lake Valley, arriving 6 Oct. 1864.[6] Clerk and manager for the T. & W. Taylor firm in Lehi, Utah Co., Utah Territory, 1865.[7] Married Laura Elizabeth Coons, 26 Dec. 1870, in Salt Lake City; twelve children.[8] Manager of the People’s Cooperative Institution in Lehi, 1872; president of the Utah Sugar Company, 1890–1917, in Lehi.[9] Served as bishop of the Lehi Ward, 1879–1903.[10] Led a tour of the Utah Sugar Company for EBW and others, 21 Nov. 1895.[11] Attended a Relief Society conference in Lehi, which EBW also attended; gave an address on the importance of home industries, 25 Oct. 1897.[12] Moved to Salt Lake City, 1904.[13] Director of the Utah State Bank, the Consolidated Wagon and Machine Company, and the Continental Life Insurance Company; vice president of Intermountain Life Insurance Company and other companies.[14] Died 3 Apr. 1922 in Long Beach, Los Angeles Co., California.[15]
