Theron Woodward

25 May 1848–1 February 1906

Born 25 May 1848 at Clarendon, Rutland Co., Vermont.[1] Son of John Perkins Woodward and Mary Dodge.[2] Cousin of EBW.[3] Living in Kingston, Green Lake Co., Wisconsin, by Apr. 1855.[4]  Resided in Chicago, ca. 1869–1883.[5] Married first Anna Elizabeth Stevens, 18 Jan. 1877, at Kingston; widowed 1883.[6] Moved from Kansas City, Jackson Co., Missouri, to Wales, Erie Co., New York, 1880.[7] Correspondent in New York City and Chicago for the New York Clipper, the New York Dramatic News, and several out-of-state newspapers, 1883–1886.[8] Secretary and treasurer of Lanward Publishing Company, 1886; owner 1902.[9] Belonged to numerous social, historical, and fraternal societies, by 1890, including the New England Historic Genealogical Society, the Old Colony Historical Society, the Illinois Society of the American Revolution, and the Illinois Society of the War of 1812.[10] Married second Carrie Estelle Clark King, 26 Sept. 1894, in Oconomowoc, Waukesha Co., Wisconsin.[11] Corresponded with EBW regarding the Woodward family genealogy he was researching.[12] Manager of the National Engineer, 1897–1906.[13] Coauthored Dodge Genealogy: Descendants of Tristram Dodge, 1904.[14] Died 1 Feb. 1906 in Chicago.[15]
