Julia Ann Jinks
Born 17 Apr. 1824 in Stone, Staffordshire, England.[1] Daughter of John Jinks and Mary Woodfield.[2] Baptized as a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints by Willard Richards, 4 Apr. 1841.[3] Married John Druce, 19 June 1842, in Manchester, Lancashire, England; nine children.[4] Emigrated from Liverpool, Lancashire, aboard the Montezuma, arriving in New York, 17 Sept. 1846.[5] Lived in Haverstraw, Rockland Co., New York, 1846–1861.[6] Migrated to the Salt Lake Valley with the Ira Reed pioneer company, arriving 17 Sept. 1861.[7] Teacher in the Salt Lake City Twelfth Ward Relief Society, 1868–1879; served as Relief Society president, 1879–1908.[8] Directed transfer of property to build homes for the poor, 1891.[9] Vice president of the Salt Lake Co. Woman Suffrage Association, 1893; member of the executive board, 1894.[10] Member and officer of the Reaper’s Club, 1896–1908.[11] Died 2 Feb. 1915 in Salt Lake City.[12]
