Julia Almira Farnsworth

2 December 1874–25 June 1960

Born 2 Dec. 1874 in Beaver, Beaver Co., Utah Territory.[1] Daughter of Philo T. Farnsworth and Julia P. Murdock.[2] Attended Beaver Stake Academy, Brigham Young Academy, and University of Utah, earning a bachelor of arts degree.[3] Attended the World’s Congress of Women in Chicago, representing young women; delivered an address, 1893.[4] Appointed state chair of correspondence for Utah at the General Federation of Women’s Clubs in Denver, spring 1898.[5]  With EBW, charter member and recording secretary of Utah Daughters of the Revolution, 16 Dec. 1898; regent, 1917.[6] Represented the Utah State Society of the Daughters of the Revolution in Philadelphia, 1899.[7] Married Henry Cornelius Lund, 20 Sept. 1899, in Salt Lake City; seven children.[8] Member and secretary/treasurer of the Relief Society general board, 1921–1939.[9]  Secretary and vice president of the Utah University Alumni Association, 1921.[10] Board member of the Salt Lake County Red Cross, spring 1925.[11] Appointed educational director of the Women’s Civic Center Association, Oct. 1927.[12] Died 25 June 1960 in Salt Lake City.[13]
