Hiram Bradley Clawson

7 November 182629 March 1912

Born 7 November 1826 in Utica, Oneida County, New York.[1] Son of Zephaniah Clawson and Catherine Reese.[2] Baptized into The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, 1840.[3] Migrated to the Salt Lake Valley with the Brigham Young pioneer company, arriving September 1848.[4] Married Ellen Curtis Spencer, 18 March 1850, in Salt Lake City.[5] Business manager for Brigham Young.[6] Comanaged the Salt Lake Theatre with John T. Caine, circa 1862.[7] General superintendent of the Zion’s Cooperative Mercantile Institution, 1869–1873, 1875.[8] Served as bishop of the Salt Lake City Twelfth Ward, 1882–1904.[9] President of the Deseret Hospital board, 1884.[10] Died 29 March 1912 in Salt Lake City.[11]
