Foscue.[2] Baptized as a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, July 1873.[3] Married first Elias Sims, 1876; one child; divorced 23 Oct. 1878.[4] Secretary of the Relief Society in Heber City, Wasatch Co., Utah Territory, 1879.[5] Elected as president of the Women’s Suffrage Association (WSA) in Sanpete Co., Utah Territory, in a meeting conducted by EBW, 20 June 1889.[6] Spoke at a conference of the Woman Suffrage Association of Utah with EBW, 7 Oct. 1889, in Salt Lake City.[7] Secretary of the Sanpete Stake Relief Society, 23 Sept. 1890.[8] Published newspapers in Ephraim, Sanpete Co.; Provo, Utah Co., Utah Territory; and Spanish Fork, Utah Co.[9] Business manager of the Young Woman’s Journal, beginning 2 Mar. 1891.[10] Inaugural member of the Utah Press Club, 1891.[11] Married second James Thomas Jakeman, 22 May 1891, in Manti, Sanpete Co.; six children.[12] Divorced after her husband was arrested for forgery, Jan. 1894.[13] Appointed as corresponding secretary of the Utah Society for the Study of Children, Aug. 1894.[14] Secretary and chair of the executive committee of the Utah Co.
