Elizabeth Lane

26 February 1811–27 August 1897

Born 26 Feb. 1811 in New Radnor, Radnorshire, Wales.[1] Daughter of James L. Lane and Jane.[2] Worked as a dressmaker and milliner, until 1837, in New Radnor.[3] Moved to London, 1837.[4] Moved to Hay, Brecknockshire, Wales, Feb. 1840.[5] Married first John Games Jr., 30 Oct. 1846, at Hay; one child.[6] Baptized as a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, 25 Feb. 1848, in Hay.[7] Emigrated from Liverpool aboard the Samuel Curling, arriving in Boston on 23 May 1856.[8] Migrated to the Salt Lake Valley with the Edward Bunker pioneer company, arrived 2 Oct. 1856.[9] Married second Heman Hyde, 6 Dec. 1856, in Salt Lake City.[10] Worked as a milliner and successfully managed the family’s laundry business.[11] A dear friend and longtime neighbor to EBW.[12] Died 27 Aug. 1897 in Salt Lake City.[13]
