Born 9 March 1837 in Yorkshire, England.[1] Christened 9 April 1837 in Thorganby, Yorkshire.[2] Son of Robert Allison and Mary Ruler.[3] Baptized into The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, 20 December 1849.[4] Emigrated from Liverpool, Lancashire, England, 22 April 1855; arrived in New York City, 22 May 1855.[5] Migrated to Salt Lake City with the Preston Thomas wagon company; arrived 17 September 1856.[6] Married Elise (Eliza) Andrea Josephine Marie Bruun, 16 August 1862, in Salt Lake City.[7] Ordained a seventy, 28 November 1862.[8] Participated in the Utah Indian wars, May 1866–September 1867.[9] Served as sheriff of Summit County, Utah Territory, 1876–1888.[10] Proprietor of the Webber House, Coalville, Summit County, 1891.[11] Served as superintendent of the Utah Territorial Reform School, later the Utah State Industrial School, 18 July 1891–1 November 1905, in Ogden, Weber County, Utah Territory.[12] Died 1 October 1912 in Ogden.[13]
