Clara Clawson

26 February 1877–28 February 1903

Born 26 Feb. 1877 at Salt Lake City.[1] Daughter of Orson Spencer Clawson and Nabbie Howe Young.[2]  Baptized a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints by Joseph Keddington, 5 Oct. 1886.[3] Lived in the Salt Lake City Eighteenth Ward, as did EBW.[4] Member of the Ensign Wheel Club, May 1895.[5] Appointed to the reception committee of the Pioneer Jubilee, June 1897.[6] Charter member of the Wasatch chapter of the Daughters of the Revolution with EBW, 1898.[7] Served on the “Old-Time Dressing Committee” for the Brigham Young birthday celebration, 1 June 1899.[8] Married Chauncey Mott Benedict, 29 Oct. 1901, in Salt Lake City.[9] Died unexpectedly after the birth of her son, 28 Feb. 1903, in Salt Lake City.[10]
