Abbie Hannah Wells

31 October 1881–5 September 1979

Born 31 Oct. 1881 in Salt Lake City.[1] Daughter of Junius Free Wells, EBW’s nephew, and Helena Middleton Fobes; granddaughter of Daniel Hanmer Wells and Hannah Corilla Free.[2] Baptized as a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, 29 Mar. 1893.[3] Accompanied EBW to the office of the Daughters of the American Revolution and other points of interest in New York City, 1899.[4] Accompanied EBW to services at the Old First Reformed Church in New York City and to the U.S. Military Academy in West Point, Orange Co., New York, with the Daughters of the Revolution, 25–26 Apr. 1900.[5] Trained as a stenographer, in Salt Lake City.[6] Lived in California and Massachusetts with her mother and nephew Edward, 1919–1921.[7] Attended her mother during her final illness.[8] Assisted her father in compiling the Wells family genealogy as head of the Daniel H. Wells Family Association.[9] Employed by Deseret Book Company; oversaw book orders for schools and libraries throughout Utah.[10] Contributed to the Children’s Friend.[11] Died 5 Sept. 1979 in Salt Lake City.[12]
